Jon Wetherall, Creative Director – ONTECA (Liverpool)
Onteca is a game development and media lab that has always looked to work at the intersection of Art & Technology and has produced a number of projects based around mobile devices, Bluetooth technology and the visualisation of location-based content. Working with renowned artists such as Jen Southern and Maria Stukoff, their projects investigate new user experiences of Art within socially mediated environments, producing creative digital content projects involving social networks, geo-tagged photo and SMS delivered applications.
Maria N Stukoff, Lead Artist – ONTCEA (Manchester)
As artist, curator and lecturer, Stukoff art practice explores the boundaries of contemporary media art and game-play that situate mobile technologies into the urban terrain. Her recent projects engage with new social networking applications to facilitate collaborative public space and the notion of transient art experiences. Stukoff is currently completing her practice-based PhD research at the Manchester Metropolitan University in this subject area.
ONTECA and Stukoff developed the unique mobile Bluetooth system ‘blu_box’, the seed concept for ‘Every Passing Moment’ - a Bluetooth-enabled game event submitted for the art exhibition part of Futuresonic.
